Pressure Systems

rak are accredited by UKAS to ISO 17020:2012 for the inspection of major, intermediate and minor pressure systems including high hazard process systems falling outside of the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations. The accreditation also extends to atmospheric vessels and storage tanks.
rak pressure system inspection engineers provide an inspection service to ensure the integrity of pressure systems and compliance with statutory legislation. Our own internal quality systems ensure the ongoing technical competence of our engineers in undertaking the following activities:

  • Vessels (columns, reactors, heat exchangers, boilers)
  • Protective devices / relief streams
  • Pipelines & piping
  • Tanks
  • Drawing up and certifying Written Schemes of Examination (WSE)
  • Control of modifications and repairs

All our procedures and associated guidance notes are consistent with the requirements of:

  • Pressure Systems and Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR)
  • Pipeline Safety Regulations 1996 (PSR)
  • Control of Major Hazards Regulations 1999 (COMAH)
  • Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER)
  • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HSWA)

All our clients receive personal access to the rak Pressure Systems inspection database. This provides electronic access to Written Schemes of Examination for each asset, as well as inspection reports, defect lists, and other supporting information such as NDT reports and photographs. This makes it easy for our clients to demonstrate their compliance when handling their own internal or external Audits.
