Tankage Assessment

rak have been inspecting tanks for many years. Recently the focus on tank integrity by the HSE has increased significantly. In particular, the need for tankage assessment in accordance with the EEMUA 159 Guidelines.

Following the extension to our UKAS accreditation to include non-destructive testing (NDT) rak invested heavily in new equipment and are able to provide the full range of NDT services associated with achieving an inspection to EEMUA 159. We use phased array ultrasonic testing to profile remaining plate thickness of annular plates and inspect the shell to annular weld. Our EEMUA 159 certified engineers also have the capability to recommend and monitor repairs as per API 650 & 653 and BS 2654.

rak have developed a tankage inspection team comprising of Non-destructive Testing Technicians and Inspection Engineers led by EEMUA 159 certified Engineers.

This capability has been well received by our clients. By incorporating work management, site coordination, field inspection, NDT and reporting as a complete service, we are consistently able to deliver a more cost-effective solution than other traditional NDT providers.
