Macquarie Capital and Greenergy partnered to establish Navigator Terminals (“Navigator”) which acquired Royal Vopak’s UK storage facilities at West Thurrock on the Thames, Seal Sands at Teesside and Windmill near Cardiff. Simultaneously, Navigator also acquired the operational storage assets of Greenergy North Tees at Teesside.
These acquisitions gave Navigator an initial storage capacity of approximately 1.5 million cubic meters, making it the UK’s largest independent bulk liquid storage provider. Each terminal is strategically located in an area of significant regional demand.
rak has supported the North Tees facility, now a storage facility operated by Navigator, since 2007 when Petroplus operated the North Tees Refinery. Today rak support Navigator’s operations with full time inspection by the way of EEMUA qualified inspection engineers, piping inspectors and NDT services providing PSSR, COMAH and EEMUA compliant inspections of their assets. We also provide technical consultancy in support of activities such as the re-rating of existing pipelines and storage tanks, civil and structural design/surveys of jetties, loading arms and structures and general fitness for purpose studies.
