Sembcorp Utilities UK is the major industrial energy, utilities and services provider to international process industry companies based in the Teesside area, and owns and operates major assets on Teesside in the UK. It is part of Sembcorp Industries, a leading energy, water and marine group based in Singapore with operations on six continents worldwide. They are a key supplier of essential utilities, such as power and steam to major international manufacturers on the Wilton International Site, one of the UK’s largest and important manufacturing sites. The company’s main asset is the Wilton Power Station which includes Biomass, HRSG and Energy from Waste (EFW) boilers. Alongside the power station, Sembcorp Utilities is responsible for cable and pipeline distribution systems for electricity, steam, demineralised water, nitrogen cavities and compressed air across the Wilton International Site.

rak has provided Sembcorp Utilities UK with an independent inspection service since 2007. This includes inspection support by the way of plant inspection engineers, EEMUA qualified inspection engineers, piping inspectors, lifting gear inspectors and NDT services providing PSSR, COMAH, EEMUA and LOLER compliant inspections of their assets. rak also provides a technical consultancy in support of the production of Written Schemes of Examination and activities such as civil and structural design/surveys of structures and general fitness for purpose studies.
